The journey from studying Fine Art at the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee, to diversifying into more democratic media began at the Royal College of Art, London.
Drawing, lithography and ceramics replaced painting. The influence of medieval woodcuts and alabaster reliefs within the Victoria and Albert Museum’s led to storytelling, initially through prints and drawing and later through ceramics.
Experience and knowledge gained with David Grant at Highland Stoneware using reduction firing gave my work a variety of colour and tonal qualities previously not achieved with earthenware. The introduction of porcelain and Chun glaze added a jewel-like quality.
The works presented here span over thirty years. Some have been exhibited and some are in public and private collections.
